HOW TO VOTE IN WI

Make your voice matter – there are options to make voting convenient for you so there’s no reason not to vote.

If you aren’t yet registered to vote – your first step is to get registered.  And don’t forget about your adult children. 


Registration can be done on line at https://myvote.wi.gov/en-us/ or by clicking on this link and filling out a form and returning it to your municipal clerk: https://elections.wi.gov/sites/elections.wi.gov/files/2020-06/El-131%20Voter%20Registration%20App_Fillable-%20%28REV%202020-06%29_0.pdf

Once registered there are three ways to vote:

1.      By mail in advance

2.      In person in advance

3.      In person on the day of the election (April 5th, 2022)


By mail voting process

You can request a mail in ballot now through March 31st.  Ballots will be sent to you by mail beginning the week of March 7th. 

All mail in ballots must be received back by your local clerk no later than 8pm April 5th

·         Visit the MyVote webpage which enables Wisconsin residents to register to vote and request an absentee ballot.  You are also able to view your voting history. 

·         Complete an Absentee Ballot Request Form and return it to your municipal clerk (Village Clerk at 235 Hickory Street, Pewaukee, WI  53072 or City Clerk at W240N3065 Pewaukee Rd, Pewaukee, WI 53072)

·         Send your request by email (Village) or Email (City) or mail your request to your local clerk (see addresses above)

o    Include your full name

o    Current address

o    Mailing address

o    Indicate which election(s) you would like an absentee ballot for

o    Include a copy of your current acceptable Proof of Identification 

·         If you certify you are indefinitely confined you are confirming that you are certifying that you am indefinitely confined because of age, illness, infirmity or disability and request absentee ballots be sent to me automatically until I am no longer confined, or I fail to return a ballot. Anyone who makes false statements in order to obtain an absentee ballot may be fined not more than $1,000 or imprisoned not more than 6 months or both per Wis. Stats. §§ 12.13(3)(i), 12.60(1)(b).


In person absentee process

From March 21st – April 1st you may vote in person at your local municipal clerk’s office.  You do not need an excuse for in person absentee voting in WI.  Important, there is no in person voting allowed on Monday April 4th.  If you want to vote early in person you must do so by April 1st.

Day of Election Voting

Pewaukee polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on election days.  See your municipal clerks website for your polling location or visit MyVote.wi.gov.
